The Prosecutor's Office of Tirana has requested the sequestration of the assets of Elton Arkaxhiu, who is convicted in France for drug trafficking.

The Prosecutor's Office of Tirana requests the sequestration of the assets of the EA citizen convicted in France for 'Trafficking in narcotic substances', 'Cleaning the proceeds of criminal offences'

The Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Tirana, requests the sequestration of the property of the EA citizen, based on the law on 'Preventing and combating organized crime, trafficking and corruption through preventive measures against property'.

In the framework of property proceedings no. 3, dated 23.12.2024, preliminary investigations showed that citizen EA was convicted in France for the criminal offense of 'Trafficking in narcotic substances', while in 2011 he was prosecuted for the criminal offense of "Cleaning the proceeds of the criminal offense" provided by Article 287 of the Criminal Code.

The Interpol office has confirmed that the citizen EA, from the verifications carried out by Interpol France, results that in that period he was subject to the procedures of participation in a criminal organization mainly subject to international drug trafficking, the use of narcotic products, the importation of contraband goods and goods that pose a risk to life, etc.

The prosecution concluded from the investigation that there is inconsistency of the funding source (income + borrowing) with the documented assets.

In advance, from the information provided during the operation, immovable assets have been identified, the purchase of which is not justified by the income of this citizen and his family members until 2020 and are suspected to derive from the criminal activity of the above-mentioned citizen, specifically:

· Bar-cafe "Rio", located on "Besim Imami" street, near "Alpet" gas station on "Myslym Shyri" street. This business has a total area of ??108 m², purchased on 21.10.2005; AND

· A business premises on "Besim Imami" street, near the "Alpet" gas station, on "Myslym Shyri" street. This facility is currently used as a SPA Center.

For these reasons, on the basis of articles 3-7, 11, 12, 14 and 15 of law no. 10192, dated 03.12.2009 "On preventing and combating organized crime, trafficking and corruption through preventive measures against wealth", i changed,

The prosecution requests the sequestration of the following assets:

1 - Property of the land type, with a plot of 71.52m2 and a building of 37.52m2 in Tirana;

2 - Property service unit 108m2 located Rr. Besim Imam; AND

3 - Property service unit 63m2 in Rr. Besim Imam.
