Specialists of the Computer Crime Investigation Section in DVP Tirana, after the report made by the citizen AV, that a citizen opened an account on social networks with her personal data and photos, continuously organized the work to identify and capture the perpetrator suspects.

As part of the police operation codenamed "Username", the citizen was detained for the criminal offense "Computer Forgery":      

- EM, 39 years old, resident in Tirana, previously convicted for the criminal offense "Theft with violence".

After the verifications carried out by the Computer Crime specialists, it turned out that this citizen has continuously opened false accounts on social networks, with generalities and photos of other citizens.

The procedural materials for this case were forwarded to the Prosecution, for further actions.

Tirana Local Police Directorate, in cooperation with the Cybercrime Sector in the State Police, is investigating all cases of denunciations by citizens, misuse of personal data for opening false accounts on social networks and any other case of computer fraud , a criminal offense for which the Criminal Code provides for imprisonment from six months to six years./ CNA.al
