The State Police has reacted regarding the capture of the police officer, Florenc Bicerri.

According to the preliminary information, the police clarify that in relation to the case of narcotics trafficking, in which 3 Albanian citizens are involved.

" In relation to a case of narcotics trafficking, hit by the Turkish authorities, we clarify that:

The State Police, in cooperation with their Turkish counterparts, in connection with a case of drug trafficking, in which 3 Albanian citizens are involved, one of them a police officer, has set up a dedicated investigative group to investigate the case.

We clarify that the employee of the Tirana Traffic Police, citizen Florenc Bicerri, already arrested in Turkey, left Albania, through Rinas, on 05.10.2022.

For this police officer, the General Director of the State Police has ordered the immediate and permanent exclusion from the State Police.

Meanwhile, the dedicated investigative group, in cooperation with the Police Surveillance Agency and the Turkish counterparts, is continuing the work to clarify the circumstances of the case, to identify and capture other persons implicated in this case of narcotics trafficking," the police announced. ./ CNA.al
