Action in Drenova prison/New details on the incident

New details have emerged regarding the arrest of the police officer at the Drenova prison. It is learned that the authorities have seized a total of four iPhone-type mobile phones.

According to information, the phones belong to Orgest Bilbil, Anterio Kaloshi and Laert Haxhiu.

They are already in isolation.

We recall that the Operational Forces of the General Directorate of Prisons arrested Laert Haxhiu yesterday by phone in prison and after ascertaining this, the authorities placed him in isolation conditions.  

Haxhiu was arrested in Greece in May 2023.

He was an opponent of former Lushnja gang leader Aldo Bare, and was sentenced to life in prison for the 2017 Lushnja massacre, where Zamir Latifi, Bare's friend, and Jurgen Hoxha were killed.

Haxhiu's associates, Anterio Kaloshi and Orgest Bilbili, were previously sentenced to life imprisonment for the Lushnja massacre.

The Court of Lushnja, in 2017, sentenced him to 18 years in prison for the criminal offenses "Murder in other qualifying circumstances", attempted and "Unlicensed possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition". Citizen Laert Haxhiu, on 25.09.2016, wounded citizens Xh. Sh. and S. Xh. with a firearm;

The Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime sentenced him to life imprisonment for the criminal offenses of "Structured criminal group", "Committing criminal offenses by a criminal organization or a structured criminal group", "Murder in other qualifying circumstances", "Unauthorized possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition" and "Disturbing public peace". He was extradited to Albania in July 2024. / CNA
