Trump meets with the King of Jordan/ Talks about the situation in the Middle East

US President Donald Trump met with King Abdullah II of Jordan at the White House today. The two leaders focused on the current situation in the Middle East.

Sitting with Trump in the Oval Office, King Abdullah said they must secure a plan that satisfies all parties, a not insignificant hurdle as questions remain about how each country can move to relocate a multitude of people who have suffered many months of devastation.

King Abdullah II of Jordan has described his meeting with President Trump as "constructive" and says he "reiterated Jordan's steadfast position against the displacement of Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank."

In a statement, the King expressed gratitude for President Trump's warm welcome during their meeting at the White House. He noted that they discussed the long-standing partnership between Jordan and the United States and that "it continues to be a partnership for stability, peace and mutual security." /CNA
