Trump: US to send 5,000 additional troops to Poland

US President Donald Trump has said that the United States will send 5,000 additional troops to Poland.

"Based on the successful election of the current President of Poland, Karol Nawrocki, whom I was proud to support, and our relationship with him, I am pleased to announce that the United States will send 5,000 additional troops to Poland," Trump said on 'Social Truth'.

The announcement comes two days after US Vice President JD Vance told reporters that a deployment of US troops to Poland had been postponed.

Trump and the Pentagon have said in recent weeks they were withdrawing at least 5,000 troops to Germany after Chancellor Friedrich Merz said the US was being "humiliated" by the Iranian leadership and criticized what he called a lack of strategy in the war. /CNA
