Of the 38 municipalities in Kosovo, 21 of them concluded the mayoral race in the first round of the local elections on October 12.

In Ferizaj, Agim Aliu of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) won the race again with over 56 percent of the vote.

The race also ended without a runoff in Lipjan, with the victory of Imri Ahmeti of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK). He won over 51 percent of the votes.

Podujevo was won by Shpejtim Bulliqi of the Vetëvendosje Movement (LVV) with over 53 percent.

In the city of Skenderaj, Sami Lushtaku of PDK scored a convincing victory with over 83 percent of the votes.

The same thing happened in Kamenica. Kadri Rahimaj of LVV won there with over 50 percent of the votes.

Istog was won by Ilir Ferati of LDK with 58 percent of the vote.

The city of Shtime was won by LVV with Qemajl Aliu with over 50 percent of the votes.

Malisheva was won by Ekrem Kastrati of the Social Democratic Initiative with over 53 percent of the vote.

In Deçan, Bashkim Ramosaj of AAK won with over 51 percent of the votes.

In Drenas, the race was won by Ramiz Lladrovci from the For Drenas Champion party with Ramiz Lladrovci with over 52 percent of the votes.

Mehmet Ballazi of PDK won Hani i Elezit with over 50 percent of the votes.

In Mamusha, Abdulhadi Krasniç from the Turkish Democratic Party of Kosovo (KDTP) won with over 50 percent of the vote.

The race has also concluded in the four Serb-majority municipalities: North Mitrovica, Zvecan, Leposavi? and Zubin Potok. Candidates from the Serbian List, the largest Serb party in Kosovo, won there. The Serbian List also won in Novo Brdo, Štrpce, Gra?anica, Ranilug and Partesh.

In 17 other municipalities, the second round of elections will be held on November 9. The turnout in these elections was 39 percent. According to CEC data, 2,069,098 citizens were eligible to vote. About 44,000 of them were able to vote by mail from abroad in the period September 17 - October 11. The process was conducted peacefully, without any major incidents./REL
