Vjosa Oman calls on the states/ "Recognize the independence of Kosovo"

The President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, has invited the countries that have not yet recognized Kosovo to do so.

"I want to use this opportunity to call on friendly countries around the world to stand with Kosovo, and for those that have not recognized Kosovo's citizenship and democratic institutions, [I call on them] to join the majority of the countries of the world to do this," she said.

This is what Osmani declared in her speech at the Summit for Democracy organized by the American president, Joe Biden.

Kosovo declared its independence on February 17, 2008. According to the list published on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, 117 countries of the world have recognized it.

Osmani thanked the United States of America for its support and contribution to Kosovo, and said that the country is doing and will do "tireless work to preserve democracy".

"I invite everyone to stay with us, Kosovo, and let us continue to be a reliable ally and champion of democracy," said the president./CNA
