British Ministry of Defense: Russia is preparing for wider military mobilization

The intelligence services of the British Ministry of Defense announced that Russia is expected to increase the ranks of its armed forces.

According to the latest report of this ministry, at the beginning of this week, the deputies of the Russian parliament presented a draft law that provides for the change of the age of men for the call to the compulsory military service, from 21 years to 30 years. Currently, Russians between the ages of 18 and 27 are being drafted into military service.

According to the British ministry, the law has a high chance of being approved and could enter into force in January.

"Russia is officially preventing men who register for military service from participating in the fighting in Ukraine, even though hundreds of them may have served in operations due to administrative entanglements or were forced to sign contracts," the ministry said.

According to the British services report, many young people between the ages of 18-21 are asking to be exempted from the law in order to continue their education.

Meanwhile, according to the American Institute for War Studies, Russian forces have carried out ground attacks in Bakhmut, Donetsk and the Kupyansk-Svatove-Kreminn region.
