EU ministers meet online with Gulf ministers/ Kallas: We will consider

The foreign ministers of the European Union and the ministers of the Persian Gulf countries will hold an online meeting today. The EU's foreign policy chief, Kaja Kallas, told reporters that the focus of the meeting is the situation in the Middle East.

Kallas said that Iran is trying to expand the war, while emphasizing that the priority is the safety of European citizens currently in the Middle East region. He further stated that they will also examine how they can support the production of drone interceptors.

“Today we have an extraordinary meeting with EU Foreign Ministers and Gulf Ministers. Of course, we are talking about what is happening in the Middle East. Iran is exporting war, trying to spread it to as many countries as possible, to sow chaos, and we are calling for stability and we are looking at what we can do together.

Of course, our first priority is also the safety of our citizens who are currently in the region. We are organizing the response and organizing our people outside the region. We are coordinating consular services.

"The same drones that are attacking Kiev are now attacking our partners in the Middle East. So we will consider how we can support the production of drone interceptors. That is the essence of our discussion today ," Kallas said. /CNA
