French President Emmanuel Macron faces potential legal trouble after prosecutors announced on November 24 that they were investigating the services of consulting companies during the 2017 and 2022 national election campaigns.

Although the financial prosecutor's notice does not specifically mention Macron's campaign, it is believed that his election team is the main target of two separate investigations, reports Agence France Presse (AFP).

The prosecution specified that since October they have launched two investigations into the use of consultants during the 2017 and 2022 elections.
