The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, held a meeting with the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaja Kallas, within the framework of the European Political Community (EPC) Summit.

According to the official announcement, the meeting discussed the political situation and security issues in the region, in a context of interrelated international challenges.

Kurti stressed the importance of Kosovo's harmonization with European Union policies in facing these challenges, and reiterated the country's commitment to the European integration process and the implementation of reforms.

He also called for the advancement of Kosovo's status towards receiving the status of a candidate country for EU membership, noting the progress achieved and the need for a merit-based assessment.

During the talks, the latest political developments in Kosovo were also discussed, including issues on the internal agenda and institutional processes, as well as developments in the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue.

Kurti also raised concerns regarding the situation of Albanians in Presheva, Medve?a and Bujanovac, mentioning the passivation of addresses and the issue of financial support for the Valley.

The meeting was assessed as constructive, with an emphasis on continuing cooperation and close dialogue between Kosovo and the European Union./ CNA
