The latest report on access to technology shows that almost all families in Kosovo have a television and internet, while less than half own a computer or laptop. The landline telephone is disappearing from use.
In the age of technology, Kosovo is moving deeper and deeper into digital life. Television and the internet have become an inseparable part of every family, but the computer still seems to have not taken its rightful place in every home.
According to the latest data on access to technology and electronic devices by municipality, there are currently 366,595 households in the country, of which 362,983 own a television.
Of these, 344,317 households use cable connections, 18,712 terrestrial, and 4,937 IPTV, demonstrating a wide spread of modern media services.
On the other hand, 355,848 households have access to the internet, either through cable networks or other connections, while 360,502 households own a mobile phone.
However, only 196,911 households have a computer or laptop, which shows that the phone remains the main device for accessing the digital world.
At the same time, the landline telephone has almost disappeared from use: only 12,826 households still use it.
These data provide a clear picture of the level of digitalization of families in Kosovo, highlighting a reality where the internet and mobile phones dominate modern life, while the computer is losing the race for its place in every home.
