The former American president leaves the hospital/ Continues treatment at home

Former US President Jimmy Carter ended his medical treatment and returned to his home in Georgia.

His foundation, Carter, said he has decided to "spend his remaining time at home with his family," but did not say what prompted the decision.

Carter, 98, has suffered from several health problems recently, including a type of cancer that has spread to his liver and brain.

Carter served one term as president, from 1977 to 1981.

During this task, he has faced a number of challenges in foreign policy, while in the race for re-election he was defeated by Ronald Reagan.

Carter "has the full support of his family and medical team," his foundation said in a media statement.

United States President Joe Biden said he and First Lady Jill Biden are praying for their friend, Jimmy, and his wife, Rosalynn.

"We admire you for the strength and humility you have shown in difficult times," Biden wrote on Twitter./REL
