Vice President Kamala Harris, who has Biden's endorsement to win the Democratic presidential nomination in November, has reacted after Biden announced his withdrawal from the presidential race.

Through a post on social media, Harris says he will do everything to unite the Democratic Party, the nation and defeat Donald Trump and his "Project 2025" agenda.

"I will do everything in my power to unite the Democratic Party and unite our nation to defeat Donald Trump and his extreme Project 2025 agenda."

"We have 107 days until election day. Together, we will fight. And together we will win", writes Harris.

Harris thanked Biden for his extraordinary leadership and decades of service to the country.

Recounting how she met the president, she continues to write about his honesty and integrity, his love for his country and the American people.

She describes his decision as a selfless and patriotic act and says she is honored to have the endorsement of Biden for the presidential nomination./ CNA
