Afghanistan is hit by two earthquakes/ 6 people lose their lives

A sad news is reported in Afghanistan, where as a result of two earthquakes today, at least 6 people lost their lives.

According to Reuters, the earthquake hit the country this morning in the northeastern Kunar province, injuring 9 people, according to Mohammad Nasim Haqqani, a spokesman for the Afghan ministry responsible for disaster relief.

The first earthquake had a magnitude of 4.3, while the second had a magnitude of 4.8. Haqqani said there were no reports of casualties or damage yet in northern Badakhshan, the area likely to be hit by the second quake.

This year, Afghanistan has been hit by natural disasters, including drought and an earthquake that killed more than 1,000 people in June in the eastern part of the country. /CNA.al
