IMF Regional Meeting/ New Macroeconomic Project SEETAC Presented

Within the framework of the IMF and WB Spring Meetings, the Governor of the Bank of Albania, Gent Sejko Sejko, participated in the regional meeting with the Ministers of Finance and Governors of the Central Banks of the Western Balkan countries and Moldova, where the new IMF project was presented: Southeast Europe Technical Assistance Centre (SEETAC).

Headquartered in Vienna, SEETAC will provide technical assistance on: fiscal and monetary policies, macroeconomic statistics, economic modeling, legal issues.

The goal remains to strengthen institutional capacities and support countries on the path towards EU membership.

SEETAC is expected to start work in January 2027.

An important step towards a stronger, more integrated and more economically sustainable region. /CNA
