Macroeconomic Policy Discussions/ Governor Sejko meets with the Director for Albania at the IMF

Governor Gent Sejko held a meeting with Mr. Riccardo Ercoli, Executive Director for Albania on the IMF Executive Board, in the framework of the IMF and WB Spring Meetings.

The meeting focused on an exchange of views on recent economic developments and macroeconomic policies pursued by the Albanian authorities.

The positive performance of the economy was appreciated, with stable growth, declining inflation and expectations of a return to target during 2026. The monetary policy followed has contributed to maintaining price stability, despite challenges from international markets.

The Albanian banking system remains stable, liquid and well-capitalized, while the exchange rate has shown considerable strengthening, reflecting fundamental economic factors and market confidence.

Governor Sejko expressed his appreciation for the IMF's continued support over the years and his willingness to further strengthen cooperation with the institution./CNA
