The researcher and economic expert, Ilir Ciko, said that according to a study he has done, many products in our country are more expensive than abroad.

He added that many Albanians notice when they go out, they are surprised that in international markets we often find cheaper prices than in our country.


"It is about products that are found in markets, starting from food to cosmetics. The findings of the study say that we are facing one of the biggest extortions in Europe, where large companies use discriminatory practices for the Albanian consumer, this is a very heavy burden faced by the Albanian consumer," said Ciko


Many Albanians notice it when they go out, they are surprised that in international markets we often find cheaper prices than in our country. It is the market that sets the price, but distortion and monopoly dictate prices that are abusive. Today, for example, a kg of flour is sold for almost 1 euro in Milan. In our country, according to the study, for the same products, it turns out that businesses sell 2.7% more than in the EU, while consumers expect it to be somewhere 5.5% more expensive. The reality is that today such a product is sold for 250 Lek, or 250% more. The same is true for other products./CNA
