Ryanair has said it will no longer offer ultra-low-cost flights due to rising energy prices.
The company's chief executive, Michael O'Leary, has said that the era of €10 tickets is over.
The average ticket will increase from around 40 euros - what it was last year - to almost 50 euros in the next five years, he told the British broadcaster, BBC.
However, he has said he believes people will continue to fly, despite rising living costs.
"There is no doubt that our promotional offers of tickets of one euro, 0.99 euros or 9.99 euros will not exist in the following years", he said, among other things.
The increase in energy prices is affecting the increase in the cost of living.
Airline tickets have been cheaper in the last decade and the number of flights has increased as a result.
Ryanair, Easyjet, Vueling and Wizz Air have been among the key companies offering such tickets.
Commercial aviation is now responsible for 2.4 percent of global emissions, so the sector is facing pressure to reduce its impact on the climate./ REL
