Two contracts with a cumulative value of 2.4 billion lek or 24 million euros were recently signed by the Albanian Development Fund with operators Geci and Salillari regarding two separate projects.
The contract "Improvement of urban transport and parking (QSUT Parking): Construction of a multi-level Multifunctional Parking Building at the "Mother Teresa" University Hospital Center in Tirana (QSUT)" won by Sallillari was won for a value of 1.4 billion lek or 14 million euros.
“The project consists of two buildings with five floors above ground and one underground floor. The first building will serve as a parking lot for vehicles with a volume of 5 floors above ground and 1 underground floor. This building will be connected to the new general medicine building and the main emergency building. The parking building is positioned at the main entrance of the QSUT, west of the existing emergency building.
The second building will be a hotel and is positioned north of the parking building, separated by a 15 cm gap. This building has 5 floors above ground for reception and logistics services and 1 underground floor that will serve as technical facilities for the hotel," the technical report of the procurement procedure states.
Meanwhile, the second contract won by GECI has as its object ""Improvement of Regional Transport, with main connecting roads (Durres Ring Road, etc.): Connection of Currila with Aleksandër Goga Street via Isuf Ferra Street, (Vangjel Gjurgaj), Vojsava Street, Prokop Meksi Street, Abdulla Teku Street (Sul Demiri) and Pjeter Budi" with a bid of 1 billion lek or about 10 million euros.
Referring to the technical report of the Municipality of Durres, it is underlined that the latter, within the framework of the urban development of the city and the improvement of public infrastructure, seeks to carry out the implementation project (study and design) for the facility: “Connection of Currila with Aleksandër Goga Street via Pjeter Bogdani Street”. “The request for the development of the infrastructure project is based on the need for the redevelopment of the hilly areas of Spitalla” states the report. The road in question will be designed for a speed of 40km/h as a reference of the Road Code regarding residential areas, while on its sides there will be dedicated bicycle lanes.
The technical report estimates that for the rest, the roads extend to the North-Western part of the city of Durrës, in the Spitalla area and which will create the opportunity to connect Aleksandër Goga Street with Currila. “The facility consists of 2 roads: – “Isuf Ferra” Street, which has a length of about 1202 ml. – “Currila” Street (Continuation), which has a length of about 342 linear meters. Currently, “Isuf Ferra” Street is a 2-way road, paved with asphalt in a length of about 800 linear meters. This road is depreciated and damaged in various parts of it. “Currila” Street is unpaved, and serves for the movement of residents of the area,” the report states./ Monitor Magazine
