US dollar at four-year low, analysts warn of further decline

The US dollar has fallen to its lowest level in four years against a basket of currencies, losing value significantly against the euro and the pound.

In just one week, the US currency weakened by about 3%, while analysts warn that the downward pressure could continue throughout the year.

Financial market experts attribute this development to the uncertainty created by the policies of President Donald Trump's administration, especially trade tariffs and geopolitical tensions with Europe. According to them, the volatile nature of decision-making is undermining investor confidence in the US economy.

A weaker dollar reduces the purchasing power of American consumers and raises the cost of imports, risking rising inflation. At the same time, the dollar's decline has fueled a rise in the price of gold, as investors seek safer alternatives.

Although there are concerns about a "selling of America", analysts point out that the pressure has been mainly focused on the dollar, while US stock and bond markets remain relatively stable.

The White House does not seem concerned by the weakening currency, as a lower dollar could increase the competitiveness of American exports.
