In the event of a nuclear war, Switzerland would be the safest country in the world. In fact, although it has never waged a war (at least in the 20th-21st centuries), the Swiss Confederation boasts of having such a large number of anti-nuclear bunkers.
So much so that in the event of an attack or a nuclear accident, it would be the only country capable of sheltering its entire population. Even more than that. As the coverage rate is 114 percent. Practically, this means that there are 1.14 protected places for every inhabitant of this country.
The regulatory plans of the Italian army do not foresee the construction of anti-nuclear bunkers. The only option is to design them as basements, following the rules set by the Swiss regulations for private shelters. Their cost can vary from 2 to 3 thousand euros per square meter.
