First EU candidate country in this role/ Albania takes over the leadership of

Albania takes over the leadership of the Monitoring Committee of the Interreg Europe program for the first time.

With this task, Albania becomes the first EU candidate country to hold this role.

Through an announcement, the State Agency for Strategic Programming and Aid Coordination (SASPAC) has shared details of this task, which it describes as part of the country's role in European interregional cooperation.

With 34 active partnerships and over 30 participating organizations, Albania will contribute in areas such as green transition, territorial innovation, and sustainable management of natural resources.

Meanwhile, following this development, in December, Tirana will host the next meeting of the Committee with representatives from 36 European countries./ CNA
