New teacher qualification scheme/Manastirliu: Computerized testing ready

The Minister of Education and Sports, Ogerta Manastirliu, held a meeting today at the Educational Services Center, where computerized testing will soon begin for teachers who will pass the first level of qualification, starting in their third year of work and with doubled payment for qualification.

Minister Manastirliu stated that the new teacher qualification scheme is an innovation for pre-university education, offering a faster, more transparent and merit-based process.

"For the first time, teachers will be able to benefit from qualification degrees in the 3rd, 8th and 15th year of their work, through a system that assesses their knowledge, experience and professional skills. Over 6 thousand teachers have applied for the three categories where more than 2,000 teachers will be tested at the Educational Services Center to gain the category of 'Qualified Teacher', through a computerized test, which constitutes 40 points of the overall assessment, while 60 points will come from the personal file, training and projects of the teachers. The rest are engaged through personal projects, open classes, being evaluated according to the quality teams within the school to benefit from the other two degrees: in the 8th year, "Specialist Teacher" and in the 15th year of work, "Master Teacher," said Manastirliu.

According to the Minister, the qualification reform is also accompanied by higher financial support for teachers.

"In addition to the fact that the qualification is obtained faster and the training is free, financial support for teachers has increased significantly. We have doubled the remuneration for the categories 'Qualified Teacher' and 'Specialist Teacher', while for the 'Master Teacher' we have an increase of 50%", emphasized the Minister of Education and Sports, Ogerta Manastirliu.

Meanwhile, ASCAP has drafted and submitted to the QSHA the question sets for 44 AML/AMU profiles for teachers who will be part of the computerized testing. The qualification process will continue during March and April, including computerized testing, evaluation of professional files and teaching innovation projects, ensuring a fairer and more efficient system for the professional development of teachers. /CNA
