Albanians recruited to fight in Syria/ GJKKO sentences 13 citizens

The Special Court has found the defendants guilty of participating in a terrorist organization and, for some of them, also of participating in hostilities in a foreign country.

The trial was held in the usual procedure and the verdict was given by the panel of judges Irena Gjoka, Elsa Ulliri and Bib Ndreca.

Kaca and Kaca were each sentenced to 10 years in prison after the sentences for the criminal offenses of "participation in a terrorist organization" and "participation in hostilities in a foreign country" were combined.

Meanwhile, Enes Kaca was sentenced to 5 years in prison as a juvenile, while Bajram Sulaj, Arbër Stafasani, Etion Zani and Erion Luto were each sentenced to 9 years in prison.

The other six defendants received sentences ranging from 4 to 8 years in prison.

The court decided that the sentences would be carried out in high-security prisons and charged SPAK with executing the decision.
