Pojani celebrates amidst the scent of flowers/ "Rose Festival" returns

This weekend has found Pojan filled with colors, aromas and a festive atmosphere. The “Rose Festival”, now a tradition, brought together residents, students, artists and visitors in an activity that promotes the beauty of nature and the heritage of the area. In a village where almost every yard is decorated with roses, the community has decided to turn this asset into a symbol of identity and pride.

According to the mayor of Maliq, Gezim Topçiu, the festival has now become part of the cultural calendar of the administrative unit of Pojan.

"Yes, in every administrative unit we have our local holidays, and Pojani has a special holiday, the 'Rose Festival'. This has become the reason why the entire village community wants to turn it into an annual tradition. We have always been in their support. It is a holiday that unites the entire community and brings only joy, harmony and various activities that increase from year to year. Even though we are a municipality with an agricultural-livestock profile, we do not lack beautiful places. We have about 16 first-class monuments and guesthouses and tourist attractions have already begun to increase in the area of ??Gora, Moglica, Leminot and Çaushlia. The valley towards Gora and Moglica, and then towards Gramsh, is one of the most beautiful in Albania," says Topçiu.

The organization of the activity was also supported by the "Dhimitër Orgocka" Cultural Center, which brought an artistic program with songs, dances and various interpretations.

Dhora Shkëmbi, director of the "Dhimitër Orgocka" Cultural Center, said that this celebration has already become a tradition.

"The Rose Festival has now become a tradition for the village of Pojani. We are very happy to have been a support for the 'Bardhyl Pojani' high school in this activity. There will be songs, dances and music for all the residents. This celebration was baptized like this because every house is filled with roses. The rose is the poetry of nature," said Shkëmbi.

Local residents consider the holiday a way to preserve tradition and encourage younger generations to care for flowers and the environment.

"We have many roses in the garden and in the yard. This celebration has become a tradition in the village and is always very beautiful. It awakens in young people the desire to cultivate roses. Everyone has roses and works to increase them. It is a beautiful thing and we feel very good," says the resident.

Even the elderly see with pleasure the continuation of this tradition across generations, saying: "We used to plant roses of different types and almost all of us had them at home. Even the young should follow this tradition. It is a pleasure, greenery and beauty. The organization of this celebration today is very beautiful."

Amidst the scent of roses, traditional dishes and artistic program, Pojani conveyed the message this year that preserving traditions and love for nature remain values ??that unite the community and make this celebration increasingly beloved by residents and visitors. /CNA
