"Protests as civic revolt"/ Academician Fuga: Continuation of years of

Renowned academic Artan Fuga commented today on the developments of the last two weeks of protests in the country.

Speaking on this topic on A2 CNN, Fuga said that he saw the protest as a continuation of several years of dissatisfaction.

According to Fuga, Albanians have a critical conscience that seems to have occasionally erupted into revolt.

Further, the academic stated that this collective movement that has been going on for 15 days is a phenomenon that overcomes all social obstacles that would normally make it impossible.

Fuga added that the protest has managed to weaken the government in a political sense, because it has shown that there is an organized dissatisfaction that cannot be ignored.

"I saw the protest as a continuation of several years of dissatisfaction, which I have observed on social networks. I have always said that it is not true that the Albanian citizen does not have a critical conscience. It was clear that something was being prepared in the conscience of the citizens, a kind of revolt that would explode at some point. The citizen feels excluded and faced with authoritarianism, faced with a decision-making that excludes him. Environmental issues are political issues, because they have to do with the way decisions are made. We have an atomized society, with isolated individuals, a lack of unions and social organizations. In these conditions, a collective movement that has been going on for 15 days is a phenomenon that overcomes all the social obstacles that would normally make it impossible.
