Protests/ Expert for CNA: They may be a headache for the government, but not for

Although there has been discussion in recent days about the impact that the protests may have on the tourism sector and reports of cancellations of reservations, experts in the field provide a different picture. Tourism expert Denis Dema told CNA TV that so far there has been no evidence of a wave of cancellations related to the protest situation in the country.

According to him, some tourist agencies are even including protests as part of the experience for foreign visitors, seeing them as a form of curiosity or urban attraction.

"The protests have not affected the bookings. There are protests in every country in the world, in Rome, Madrid, wherever you can go, but that doesn't mean that tourists don't go. In Albania, in the first few days, tourists may have been worried by the news from foreign media, as they have also posted footage from other protests, but it has had no impact. There are even agencies that promote protest tourism, and it has become quite pleasant for foreign tourists as well," the expert said.

The expert emphasizes that Albania continues to be considered a safe vacation destination and that the protests are focused on government institutions, without creating concern for tourists.

He also underlines that the southern tourist areas, where a large part of the summer season is concentrated, have not been affected by the protests and tourist activity is continuing normally.

"The reality is quite different. Protests may be a headache for the government, but not for tourists, as they do not rest at the prime minister's office, but in the south of the country and if you open the news you see that there are no protests there. Reservations continue and foreigners will continue to come because they see that there is no problem whatsoever."

"At the peak of the summer season, tourism operators remain optimistic that the flow of visitors will not be affected and that Albania will continue to remain one of the most frequented destinations in the region," the expert stated./ CNA
