"The thermal waters of Benja have dried up"/ Kumbaro responds to

The political leader of the Socialist Party in the Gjirokastra region, and also the Minister of Education, Mirela Kumbaro, has made a public reaction regarding the situation in the thermal waters of Bënja after numerous denunciations showing images that the waters had dried up and the situation was catastrophic.

Kumbaro has published several photos of the Benja Thermal Springs that he claims were taken recently.

Kumbaro emphasizes that it has never been said that the construction site is finished, because the necessary tests are being carried out with water flows, the level of the tubs, and the occasional emptying of the tubs is part of this process.

According to her, the comments circulating were made to tarnish the destination.

"The following photos from the thermal waters of Benja are TODAY'S, and whoever will see with the eyes of logic and not with the lenses of speculation, will find it very easy to distinguish between the transformation that Benja has undergone today, and the chaos of yesterday."

But it has NEVER been said that the construction site is finished, because the necessary tests are being carried out with water flows, the level of the tubs, and the occasional emptying of the tubs is part of this process.

As we speak, the bathtubs are being filled again, in a controlled manner, because engineers (the real ones, not omniscient ones) know exactly how this work is done.

But this weekend I announce to you that the natural and new infrastructural scene of Bënja will turn into a large cultural scene where all the entertainment, artists, and especially the unique music of Përmet will not be missing, while right now as I am writing these lines, visitors are enjoying the baths of Bënja, in contrast to the storm of social media statuses!

That being said, now two words, as the MP for that area:

For days now, I have been hearing and reading various comments about the Benja baths in Përmet, with a malignant desire, not only to pretend to be experts, which we are not, but also to blacken an extraordinary destination, where people are kind-hearted, hardworking and creative like rarely anywhere else - and here I am talking about the Përmet residents who have given me the most valuable lessons in life and with whom we have built and done so much work - to make Përmet the preferred destination, precisely the Përmet that until 7-8 years ago, except for Përmet residents returning to their families, or some official going on business, no one would have thought of stepping foot in! There was not even a sign at the Lekli Bridge in 2015 showing where Përmet fell!

For months we have been saying and showing that the "Bënja Thermal Springs" area is undergoing redevelopment, thanks to an investment and project made by the Albanian Development Fund, with new access roads, new service facilities, recreational spaces for relaxation and activities that also create opportunities for cultural and promotional festivals of the extraordinary Përmet tradition and products.

All interventions, as seen in the photos or as you can enjoy when you visit, have been made with materials in harmony with nature and within the aesthetics of the landscape that God has gifted to that area where centuries have left their human footprints.

Meanwhile, the work is not yet finished.

The necessary tests are being carried out with water flows, tank levels, and occasional emptying of the tanks is part of the process.

"And now you've seen enough of Përmet and Bënja through the dark glasses of Facebook, come to Përmet to enjoy Vaskë Curri, right there at the thermal water baths," writes Kumbaro.
