The Deputy Prime Minister, at the same time the Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku, spoke about projects in the field of energy.

Today, Balluku announced the start of works for the 400 kV line Albania - North Macedonia.

She also told him that the Broadcasting Operator has started negotiations with Greece for the tripling of the broadcasting capacities between Albania and the neighboring country.

While with Italy, the Minister of Energy stated that an agreement has been reached and in 2024 a feasibility study will be carried out for the construction of an underwater transmission line.

"Here we are in corridor 8, there are several components. Corridor 8 is an energy corridor, railway, European security corridor, connecting the Mediterranean Sea with the Black Sea. Albania is one of the most important links of this corridor. This 400 kV transmission line increases our transmission capacity by 1500 megawatt hours, giving us extraordinary comfort for what we will have in the future. All these capacities need transmission capacities. From the sources in which we produce, we need the transmission lines, to move to the distribution lines. Albania is in the best day when it comes to energy projects. Just a few days ago, we were approved for 10 million euros for the construction of a photovoltaic park, it is about the Belshi Photovoltaic Park, 50 megawatts. When the projects are well studied, when they provide energy security, with the transport of goods, the transport of people, the projects are called consolidated.

It must be said that this transmission line will be followed by other important projects. Our broadcasting operator has started negotiations with Greece for the tripling of broadcasting capacities between Albania and Greece. We reached an agreement with the Italian side, after we had an intensive conversation with Terna to build the energy transmission line with Albania and Italy, an underwater line. Today we speak in different terms. Today, our broadcasting operator has set up a working group with the Italian side to have a concrete feasibility study in 2024.

Albania has tangible achievements in the energy field, we had to make deep reforms. We continue to invest despite the difficulties we have faced. The year 2023 has been a positive year with many positive developments for Albania", underlined Balluku./ CNA
