"For the contribution to strengthening Albania-Kosovo relations"/

Yesterday, on the occasion of the 17th anniversary of Kosovo's Independence, the Presidential Merit Decoration Ceremony was organized in Pristina, hosted by the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani.

In this context, the former President of Albania, Prof. Dr. Bamir Topi, was honored with the title "Presidential Medal of Merit", with the motivation "For the extraordinary contribution as President of the Republic of Albania to strengthening fraternal relations between Albania and Kosovo, as well as his dedication to cultivating a unifying spirit".

In his speech, Bamir Topi, after thanking President Osmani for the decoration, recalled the day when President Bush announced the need to conclude Kosovo's Independence and the entire independence process, where he was personally a political and institutional companion as President of Albania.

"The need for political coordination between Albanians and international friends is a necessity for the consolidation of institutions and the Euro-Atlantic integration of the state of Kosovo," Topi emphasized in his speech. /CNA
