The energy crisis and the increase in prices/ Minister Ibrahimaj is optimistic about the economy

While the whole world is drawing up plans with measures to save energy and is facing increases in the prices of food products, the Minister of Finance, Delina Ibrahimaj, during the press conference, expressed optimism about the economy in Albania.

The minister says that the Albanian economy has withstood the blow from the war in Ukraine relatively well, compared to other European countries.  

According to the minister, the forecasts for the economy for 2023 remain surrounded by high uncertainties.

Meanwhile, he declares that the chances of a recession are currently very low, but emphasizes that we must be alert for any scenario.

" The Ministry has planned to increase the projection to 7.3%. However, if a full recession scenario occurs, in the EU countries, growth may be lower than 2%. The odds of a recession currently seem very low.

We have to be alert for any scenario. It is important to emphasize that inflation has been significantly lower compared to the countries of the EU and the region", said the minister./ CNA.al
