Lawyer: Rama to testify in The Hague for Hashim Thaçi

The lawyer, Tom Gashi, says that Prime Minister Edi Rama should testify in The Hague for the former President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi.

In an interview for Euronews Albania, Gashi said that the judicial bodies in Albania should issue a decision, saying that there was no organ trafficking in the country.

"We would have liked Mr. Edi Rama to be the prime minister that he is now, but before he is, it is my wish that he testify in favor of the members of the KLA. The competent bodies of justice in Albania must issue a decision, so that this case is closed once and for all, to know that no trafficking of human organs has occurred.

As long as this issue remains pending, I think that Mr. Rama has such powers to propose to the competent bodies. Albania itself should issue a judicial decision whether it happened or not. We know it didn't happen. It would be good if one of the witnesses was Edi Rama himself, but also the former prime minister Pandeli Majko, the head of SHISH during the war", he emphasized.

The lawyer of the former president of Kosovo Hashim Thaçi, Gregory Kehoe, has sent a letter to the Chief Prosecutor of The Hague, Jack Smith, where he states that there are nine former diplomats on the list of defense witnesses for the case.

They include military figures of NATO, OSCE, UNMIK and other missions that were in Kosovo during the war.

Kehoe has emphasized that even a high official of a neighboring country of Kosovo will testify.
