Enthronement of Archbishop Joan/ The first High Priestly Liturgy is held

The first High Priestly Liturgy of Archbishop Joan begins at the "Resurrection of Christ" Cathedral in Tirana.

Part of the first liturgy is the entire Holy Synod.

The first High Priestly Liturgy follows the Enthronement of His Beatitude, John at the "Resurrection of Christ" Cathedral in Tirana, which was held yesterday at 11:00.

On March 16, His Beatitude John was elected Archbishop of Tirana, Durrës and all Albania.

The election took place at the Synodal Center, where after the Divine Liturgy the selection process began.

The candidates for Archbishop of the Albanian Orthodox Church were His Grace Joan of Korça, His Grace Dhimitri of Gjirokastra, and His Grace Nikolla of Fier.

His Beatitude Joan was elected Archbishop of Tirana, Durrës and all Albania, following the passing of His Grace, Archbishop Anastasios, on January 25 at the age of 95. / CNA
