The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, has called on parents to leave their cars and accompany their children on foot on the first day of school.

This would not only reduce the traffic, but also the stress of them, as well as of the children, on this important day for them.

" The invitation to parents on the first day of school is: Don't use cars! To create the opportunity to come on foot, to accompany the children with an encouraging word, with a hug, but not locked in the car. There are 170 thousand students who go to school. If they were all in cars, then we would have 170 thousand cars on the road at the same time

 The child is more important than the car. Since we did the school registrations in these street squares, it means that the school where the child goes is only a few hundred meters away. If they want to spend time with the child, it's better to walk 15 minutes to give them an encouragement, a hug and a kiss, to wish them well, than to be locked in cars.
