According to the report published today, more than 22,300 irregular migrants were registered on the so-called Balkan Route during the month of October, almost three times more than a year ago.

According to FRONTEX, the Western Balkans region has recorded the highest number of irregular migrants identified since the peak of the migration crisis in 2015.

The high number of crossings can be attributed to repeated attempts to cross the border by migrants already present in the Western Balkans, but also due to those persons abusing visa-free access to the region.

Po sipas FRONTEX në dhjetë muajt e parë të vitit 2022 janë regjistruar 275,500 hyrje të parregullta në kufijtë e jashtëm të vendeve të Bashkimit Evropian.

Kjo paraqet një rritje prej 73% krahasuar me të njëjtën periudhë të vitit të kaluar dhe është më e larta që nga viti 2016.
