The Minister of State for Entrepreneurship, Delina Ibrahimaj, spoke this evening about the census that has started to take place from today and will last 6 weeks.

Ibrahimaj said on Erla Mehilli's show that the population census will provide clear and irrefutable statistics of the exact number of inhabitants.

She stated that the population has decreased due to immigration and the consequences of the census will be seen when the entire population census procedure is completed.

"The census is done precisely to take pictures of the number of the population in the first place, to give an accurate figure which will be without question uncontestable and since the latest technology will be used that leaves traces at every step of the process, currently the population registered at the beginning of 2023 is 2 million and 761 thousand inhabitants, so it is no longer 2.8 million and the population decline has been reflected for years even in statistics that were based on observations and not on complete photography falling.

Immigration is a concern not only of the opposition and journalists, but it is also a concern of the government, which we try to address through various policies. The concern changes that we have to build policies for people to stay in the country", said the minister.

Ibrahimaj warned that citizens who do not obey the registration or who fill in the data incorrectly will be fined.

"It is very important for all of us to underline the importance of this activity. The data will go directly to the server and there is no possibility of it being manipulated. SP and politics has not interfered with INSTAT data in any case. Citizens will be fined when they resist to obey the registration and in case of false answers.
