After Trump, another familiar name returns to Twitter

Rapper Kanye West is back on the social platform Twitter. The rapper published a post on the social network to check if his account was working.

The tweets mark the return of another controversial figure to Twitter following Elon Musk's purchase of the company. The billionaire executive said Saturday that he will restore former President Donald Trump's account.

Unlike Trump, Kaney never received an outright ban from Twitter. Instead, the company suspended his account on Oct. 10 for an unspecified amount of time after the rapper posted a number of anti-Semitic comments that escalated into threatening and hateful comments about Jews.

In response to his Twitter ban last month, the rapper agreed to buy the conservative social media platform Parler.

Kaney's anti-Semitic outbursts have caused major commercial partners to cut deals with the rapper.

Adidas ended its partnership with him last month, while Gap and Foot Locker said they would remove products from the rapper's Yeezy brand from their stores./ CNA.al
