After 27 years of service Microsoft has announced the end of technical support for its Internet Explorer browser.

The web search platform will now be replaced by Microsoft Edge, based on the Chromium architecture, Windows 10 and later operating systems.

Since 2000 it has had strong competitive rivals in the market which has accelerated its decline.
