In 2023 you will be able to send text messages through space. In late 2022, hardware giants Huawei and Apple introduced cell phones that let you send messages over satellite communications networks.

Ambitious start-ups AST Mobile and Lynk Global have begun building new satellite networks in orbit, designed to reach 5G beyond terrestrial coverage.
