OFFICIAL/ Drastic decision for Mario Mitaj's coach

Laurent Blanc has been officially sacked as Al-Ittihad coach, just hours after the defeat to Al-Nassr.

The Frenchman took charge of the team in July 2024 and in his first season won the Saudi League and the Cup, achieving a historic double, with the team that also includes Mario Mitaj.

However, recent results, especially the 0-2 defeat to Al-Nassr, made his position difficult.

Blanc leaves with good statistics, 34 wins in 46 games, but the club needed a quick turnaround. In the interim, the team will be led by Hassan Khalifa and Ivan Carrasco.

Al-Ittihad's board is already looking for a new coach who matches the club's international ambitions. The pressure is on, as the team is just three points off the top of the table.
