Adriano Galliani and Silvio Berlusconi's Monza has disappointed at the beginning of the season, collecting losses in three weeks. Many names were touted in the summer transfer window to join the Serie A debutant side, but very few of them made the deal. In a recent interview, general manager Adriano Galliani revealed that his team's biggest target has only been Paulo Dybala and not Mauro Icardi.

"The great champion that was mentioned by the president in the last few days is Dybala. I had invited the agents to my house, but the player preferred Rome", he told "Corriere della Sera". Dybala was Monza's big desire for the attack, but the Argentine was immediately tempted by the capital city.

Mauro Icardi was the name touted for a return to Italy, but it appears to have only been speculation as Galliani has avoided the PSG striker. Monza have been beaten by Torino, Udinese and Napoli in the first three weeks and are still looking for a first positive result in the elite of Italian football.
