Southampton eliminates Manchester City from the Cup

Tonight has reserved strong surprises in the EFL CUP. The city of Pep Guardiola has been eliminated by Southampton in the quarter-final stage, as it was defeated with the result 2-0.

Both goals for the locals were scored by Mara and Djenepo, in the 23rd and 28th minutes, sealing the qualification of Armando Broja's former team.

Despite the efforts in the second half, the City giants failed to overturn the result, thus agreeing to the bitter elimination.

Meanwhile, in the other quarter-final match between Nottingham Forest and Wolves, the home team won on penalties (4-3), while regular time ended with the score 1-1.
