Good salary? No! Xhaka reveals the only reason why he still plays for Arsenal

Granit Xhaka was very close to leaving Arsenal in 2019 as his relationship with the fans hit rock bottom and there seemed to be no going back.

In an interview for BeIN Sport, the midfielder emphasized that it was coach Mikel Arteta who convinced him to stay in London.

"There was a boy who held me, his name is Mikel Arteta. I will always support him no matter what happens. Without him, I'm 100 percent sure I wouldn't be at the club anymore.

He knows this, I have a very good and honest relationship with him. It doesn't matter what happens on the field, I will never be against him or say anything against him.

He deserves my respect, but also the respect of my family. I would have run away. I didn't want to wear the Arsenal shirt anymore.
