Napoli's problems, Lukaku risks the World Cup

The situation between Romelu Lukaku and Napoli continues to remain tense, with the Belgian striker out of the team's plans.

The problems began after the player's decision to train in Belgium at the end of March, without the approval of the club and Napoli's medical staff.

Lukaku was aiming to recover physically and prepare for the 2026 World Cup, but the situation has also become complicated in the Belgian national team. Coach Rudi Garcia is seeking guarantees of the striker's physical condition and wants him to play at least one official match before a decision on the squad.

It currently seems unlikely that Lukaku will return to the field with a Napoli shirt. Although he has had a conciliatory meeting with Antonio Conte, relations between the parties remain cold.

The striker is not expected to be part of the squad against Bologna, while he could have minutes against Pisa or Udinese. The Belgian's future looks far from Napoli, with interest from Saudi Arabia and several Premier League clubs.
