Portugal soon with a new coach, here's who replaces the veteran Santos

Roberto Martínez, closer and closer to the firm to take charge of Portugal, a position covered until a few weeks ago by Fernando Santos. According to Spanish radio Cadena SER, the former Belgium coach will travel to Lisbon this Monday, where he will close the deal with the Portuguese Football Federation.

The aforementioned source also reveals that the Spanish coach had an offer from Everton, but was drawn by the Portuguese representative for several reasons, including the possibility of developing a large number of Portuguese talents.

It should be noted that Roberto Martínez, 49 years old, left the management of Belgium after the 2022 World Cup (it was eliminated in the group stage), ending the "reign" of six and a half years. Belgium's best result with the Spaniard on the bench was third place at the 2018 World Cup.
