England qualified for the grand final of the European Championship after beating the Netherlands 2-1 thanks to a late goal. However, even this meeting did not pass without controversy.

The "Tulipans" claim that the penalty awarded to England in the first half was unfair. According to them, the intervention of Dumfries against Harry Kane was regular and should not have been given an 11-meter penalty, from which the match was equalized.

In this line, there was also the defender of the Netherlands, Virgil Van Dijk. The latter stated that the immediate departure of the referee at the end of the meeting shows a lot about what happened.

"The referee went to the dressing room immediately after the final whistle and that says a lot. I have no words. To concede the goal so late is terrible. This hurts a lot. I have to stay here, but I don't even know what to say. This hurts a lot," Van Dijk declared.

Even the English defender, Gary Neville, called the penalty shameful and should not have been awarded.
