The serious event/ Falling from the hotel window, the 18-year-old volleyball player lost her life

A serious event has shocked the Italian sports community. Julia Ituma, the 18-year-old volleyball player of the Igor Novara team, has lost her life in an Istanbul hotel, where her team was gathered for the Champions League quarter-final return match against Eczacibasi.

It is known that Julia Ituma fell from the window and was able to survive due to serious injuries.

The causes that led to the death of the young woman, who was born in Milan to Nigerian parents and who was in the first season with the team from Novara after leaving Club Italia, are not yet known.

192 cm tall and considered a promising volleyball player, she had won the European Women's Under-19 Championship.

"I am shocked by the tragic death of Julia Itumas, an eighteen-year-old volleyball player from Igor Novara.

My hug goes out to the family, the club, the whole great Italian volleyball community," wrote the former coach of the Italian national men's volleyball team, Mauro Berruto, on Twitter.
