Modric: Achievements in the last two World Cups are worth more than winning the European Championship

Croatia is one of the national teams that has surprised in the last two World Cups. In Russia 2018, they reached the final where they faced France, with the latter being declared champions. In Qatar, fate faced Argentina in the semi-finals, where they were eliminated, but won third place against Morocco.

These achievements have also received the appreciation of captain Luka Modric, who has emphasized that what the team has done in Russia 2018 and Qatar 2022 is more than winning the European championship.

"For me, what Croatia has done in the last 2 World Cups is greater than winning the European Championship. How should we consider it as a big trophy when the third team in the group passes and the winner doesn't even qualify for the World Cup?", he told 'CroTV'.
